If I could get a penny for every time somebody has alluded to me that "right and wrong are just relative to your point of view." I would be richer then Bill Gates! Maybe it's because of the good beating I received at Basic Training of the meaning of morals, of doing what's right no matter what has caused me to become more aggressive against those who love mediocrity and the convenience of shifting right and wrong around to suit their own ends.

I mean, wouldn't it be just great to say that my meaning of right and wrong is different then yours? I mean, I could do anything I want without being condemned or judged by other people. My right is different then yours. I don't know about you, but that sounds like the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Life is right and wrong. No one likes to be wrong, but the whole reason that we have a moral compass is so when we are wrong we...fix...it! Covering it up under the bandage of "it's all relative" is a great way to allow a problem to continue to fester and spread the decay through the social body of the human culture.

"But your beliefs of right and wrong could offend somebody!" GOOD! That means that they can change, get on the right path and be among those who are right.

Okay, Jonathan, you scream and rant about right and wrong; if there is only one right and wrong, which one is it? That's simple. I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm a Christian and the Bible is my moral compass. It says that Murder is wrong (don't bring up war and that is murder. I'll cover that in another post), the adultery is wrong, marriage is between a man and a woman, that we should love our neighbors as ourselves, we should help those in need. These aren't bad morals. These are good strong principles to build your life on and those who will find it uncomfortable are those who are breaking them.

"But the Ten commandments are to strict!". No, they aren't. Think about it. God could have been a lot stricter if he wanted.

He could have said, "you are only allowed to own one house, two cars, 1 computer, but either a laptop or PC, you can have only five lamps in your house, and your cars can only be a dull shade of gray or silver." No, he simply said, "Thou Shalt not Covet."

Or he could have said, "You can only sleep with your wife twice a week except on biblical holidays where you have to make sure it's not more then an hour." instead he said, "Thou Shalt not commit Adultery."

The people who think it's to strict is those who want to live lives like that and those are usually the ones screaming the loudest about how things are to strict and that everything is relative.

Whew, I think I've got that all out of my system.

I think it was about a year ago I wrote two essays on the problems and the attempts of creating a .xxx domain name for the internet and the reason why it is not a good idea. Well, being out of the loop because of work means I'm reporting this late.

On June 25,2010 the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbering(ICANN) has approved the creation of the domain. All I have to say is, "You asked for it."

The biggest thing that made me laugh was ICN registry's statement on their website: "However, while most internet extensions are used for just about everything you can imagine, .xxx will be focused on providing an online home for those members of the adult industry who wish to self-identify and responsibly self-regulate.*"

Self regulate?!? An industry that makes billions every year in revenue is not going to self-regulate itself in the pursuit of new customers and the expansion of their business. It's to good of an opportunity. All those racy names that have been taken in the .com, .net, and other extensions are now freely available again with a new dot domain. Pornography just enlarged it self exponentially on the internet further making it useless in our day and age.

Since it does not seem to go away, I'm going to make two suggestions that will go unheeded by anyone who can make a difference.

1. If you truly want to use the .xxx domain name to protect children and those who don't want to inadvertently run in to it. Force the adult industry to abandon their .com and .net website and move over to the .xxx site. I mean, if they want to self-regulate themselves and show that they truly "care" about others, they should be following over each other to get in to the .xxx. Make them more legitimate like a company (cue sarcastic snicker).

2. ICANN should fine any adult company that refuses to move in to the new domain heavily. And when I say heavily and mean it in every extent of the word. Strip them of their domain, whatever it takes.

Of course, none of this will ever happen. An addicting sin labeled "freedom of speech" and protected under the first amendment will never be touched. Does that mean thievery will be considered "pursuit of happiness" now?

Yeesh, when will people realize that there are moral limits to free speech and that there is a right and a wrong? It's not relative, it's simple! But greed, lust, and all sorts of other nasty things that plague use humans will always get in the way and if we don't step away from our baseless selves and strive to do right no matter what the cost, our nation is doomed to a moral decay that will destroy the next generations.

Thank you ICANN for damning the future generations of the world.

Okay. This is the first time I've seen someone issued a Nobel Peace prize in anticipation of someone doing well.

President Barack Obama accepted his Nobel Prize last week and i cannot help, but wonder if the Nobel committee is starting to become political. I mean, I understand that a lot of Americans and other countries wanted to see him in office, but really going out of their way to make him look good seems a little unfair to others.

They awarded the prize to him "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people." That's all well and good, but this was in October of 2009, he has only been president for nine months! What did he do in those nine months that deserved such a prestigious award. The Nobel committee explained "it could be seen as an early vote of confidence intended to build global support for the policies of his young administration." Sounds like politics to me.

Do not get me wrong, I have no problem with President Obama getting the Nobel prize or anyone for that matter. I just concerned when a prestigious award is being used to further a political ideal.

In some ways, the lack of major accomplishment seems to lower the value of the achievement.

With the recent Copenhagen conference, it gives new meaning to the phrase, "How's the weather?"

I mean, it's gone from a conversation starter to a national media extravaganza with Climategate and Mrs. Palin's thoughts that President Obama should boycott the UN climate conference in Copenhagen.

It's amazing how much this global warming thing has become part of the world culture. I admit, from the looks of the weather over the years it seems to be changing, but is it really changing as much as people think and is it really caused by man-made technology? Sometimes it sounds like an excuse to curtail industrial cultures from expanding to keep harm from the environment.

I'm for protecting the environment, but not at the cost of our freedom. I recycle, but I'm not a tree hugger, I take care of the environment by throwing trash, refuse, and oil where they are supposed to go, but I'm not calling for laws limiting car emission.

If we all just took the time to clean up after ourselves, I don't think the world would be in so much trouble.

"If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.
The firearm death rate in Washington, D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period. That means you are about 25 % more likely to be shot and killed in the U.S. capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S., than you are in Iraq."

Conclusion:
The U.S. should pull out of Washington D.C.

Probably one of my last political posts as being in the U.S. Air Force and can't say anything that's personal against the President of the United States. I can get away with this cause he's still President-Elect and not in charge of the military yet. (grin)

I was reading through a wikipedia page about President-Elect Obama's political stances and one jumped off the page at me. Dealing with the military.

"Obama said he would institute an "Independent Defense Priorities Board," cut investments from an “unproven missile defense system,” "set a goal for a world without nuclear weapons," "work with Russia to take our ICBM's off hair trigger alert" and "slow the development of Future Combat Systems.""

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Barack_Obama#Military

I've got to laugh. Unproven Missile defense system...unproven because we haven't used it against an enemy? When was the last time someone fired missiles at us? The Missile defense system is a system that created the Patriot missile, an excellent example of how well we can defend ourselves. Other things he has spoken of is Work with Russia to get our ICBMs aimed at someone else? Russia is going to absolutely love that. They'll have a clean shot at us without a defense or retaliation. Don't misunderstand me, I respect Russia as they have no qualms telling us they don't like us instead of these countries that smile and then try to back stab us.

If we turn off our missile defense technology then the chances of being hit are going to go up. This isn't going to make people more trusting of each other and peaceful, it's going to escalate the fear as you've just taken away our defense against a nuclear assault.

There is nowhere in history that as President of The United States, you can dictate policy and what another country can and can't do and enforce it without military presence...something we won't have.

Politics isn't a place for idealists who have their heads in the clouds that think they can make the world a better place. It isn't going to work.

People are surprisingly funny. This morning when I logged in to my internet and went to read up on the news, I see all these big headlines “Obama makes history” in big bold letters. I find it hilarious that they think he made history, what they don’t realize is what it’ll be four years before they’ll know what history is going to record.

Are they going to record that he was the first black president who did so horribly that the Democrats are ruined or will he be known as the first black president to save our country?

As I’m presently in the military now and I don’t know how far I can talk about the Commander in Chief, I am going to let you decide for yourself and to watch.

I just know that if President-Elect Obama goes through with this green plan to get rid of all coal burning and coal mining in the U.S. We are looking at the United States becoming a third world nation and the complete destruction of all jobs in Pennsylvania. The Unemployment rate may just skyrocket because of some of the decisions he may make.

Suffice to say (and to keep this simple) Four years will tell and those of you who voted to make this possible, you will be held responsible for the next four years.

Good luck, Democrats because I believe you’re going to need it.

I find it very hard not to sit back and sigh at the stupidity of some people. Watching this presidential election has become a fiasco for anyone who cares for this country.

Yep, after six months of politics and the elections, I’m finally posting a political blog post. Why wait so long? The frustration and the immaturity of people on this planet.

Okay, the common consensus is that you don’t like Bush. Fine. That’s understandable, but because of your dislike for him, you’re going to all go opposite? I’ve got a bad feeling that Obama, if he wins, we will all be worse of then Clinton when he was in. This guy speaks well, but I’d rather have someone who can’t speak well, but will help this country out.

Looks like we maybe welcoming in the age of socialism in to my beloved America.

My only prayer is that we get a republican controlled congress to quash him just like they did to Bush in the second term.

A Somali arrives in Minneapolis as a new immigrant to the United
States. He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and
Says, 'Thank you Mr. American for letting me in this country, giving
Me housing, food stamps, free medical care, and free education!'
The passerby says, 'You are mistaken, I am Mexican.'

The man goes on and encounters another passerby. 'Thank you for
Having such a beautiful country here in America !' The person says,
'I not American, I Vietnamese.'

The new arrival walks further, and the next person he sees he
Stops, shakes his hand and says, 'Thank you for the wonderful America!'
That person puts up his hand and says, 'I am from Middle East ,
I am not American!'

He finally sees a nice lady and asks, 'Are you an American?'
She says, 'No, I am from Africa !'

Puzzled, he asks her, 'Where are all the Americans?'

The African lady checks her watch and says...

'Probably at work.'

I don't know why, maybe it was after the last presidential election, but I find myself hating the thought of having to go and vote again. Mind you, I'm not staying home (I'm not going to appease the democrats on this point), but the presidency has become a battle of who can come out cleaner in a mud fight.

We've got Mit Romney and Ron Paul on the Republican side and Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on the Democrat side. What a choice!

This post won't be the discussion of who should be voted for and whose not. I just wanted to bring the point that I don't like the way elections are being done. I miss the way they used to debate like with Andrew Johnson and the No-Names party or the light and fancy dicussions between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas. Why does it have to be who is dirtier then the others? I mean, Ron Paul seems to be holding back. I mean, don't attack the man, attack his policies, that's the whole reason you won't to become President.
I've got work today, so I've got to keep this brief. I'll post some more political stuff later.
